Alerts: who hears what
Choosing who on your team hears about enquiries, bookings, quotes, money and calls, and whether by email or text.
Mist tells people when something happens: a new enquiry, a booking, a quote accepted, money in. You choose who hears what, and each person can choose how it reaches them.
The grid
Settings → Texts & alerts has a grid called Who hears what. Each row is a kind of alert, each column is a person, and each cell has an Email tick and a Text tick. Each tick saves the moment you tap it. The rows:
- New enquiries: new leads, quote requests and urgent requests. Its Text tick can be Off, Urgent only or Every enquiry.
- Bookings: new bookings, times customers asked for, and visits moved or cancelled.
- Quotes: a quote accepted or declined, and changes asked for.
- Money in: every payment, and card payments that failed.
- Ready to book: a job marked ready, or past its ready-by date (see Jobs).
- Calls and texts: customers' texts, voice messages and missed calls.
- Morning briefing: one briefing each, with their own day.
Business alerts goes to your business's alert email and phone. You have a column, and so does everyone on Team, but only for the rows their rights allow: Money in only reaches someone who may see money, an installer hears about their own jobs only, and a bookkeeper gets Money in only, by email. The person who wrote it hears about their own quotes, and The person it's assigned to about the jobs they are on.
+ Add an extra adds an email or a mobile that is not a login, such as a business partner's, up to 5. Send a test sends the people on the grid a test alert, marked as a test, so you know alerts arrive.
Where alerts go
Settings → Texts & alerts → Where alerts go sets the alert email and alert phone that Business alerts use. Left blank, they are the same as your contact email and phone. Customers keep seeing your contact details either way.
My alerts
Everyone on the team has My alerts in their menu, you included: which alerts are sent to them and which are not, and how each reaches them. Someone can switch off an alert you ticked for them, and your grid then shows it as Off. Pause all stops every alert to that person until tonight, tomorrow or a date up to 30 days away, while everyone else still hears them. Your own My alerts is where you add your mobile for text alerts.
Alert texts to you and your team never use your customers' texts. See Texts for how many there are.
