Change your website yourself
Editing the website we built for you, checking it in the preview, and putting your changes live.
If Mist hosts a website for your business, you can change it yourself from Your website, under Account in the menu. Each card saves to a draft when you press Done, and the preview shows the draft as a phone or a desktop will. Nothing reaches your live site until you press Publish, which puts every waiting change live straight away. Until then, your site shows what it shows now.
What you can change
- Headline and tagline. Leave the headline empty and the site writes one from your services.
- About you — your first name, the year you started trading, and a few words of your own.
- Photos — the photo at the top, a photo beside About you, and a gallery.
- Questions customers ask — shown on the site or hidden.
- Reviews — your customers' own words, with their names. Reviews publish only once you tick These are real customers’ words: Australian law forbids made-up reviews. Everything else can publish without it.
- Look — the site's style and your main colour. Text on your colour is kept readable: the site darkens or lightens it where it must.
- On a get-a-price site, What customers can expect: your three steps, numbered in the price card.
What comes from Settings
Your services and prices, your questions and answers, your phone number and the area you cover come from Settings — the same place your chat answers from — so each is only ever typed once, and the website screen links you there. On a one-page site, a change there reaches your site when you next publish. On a get-a-price site it shows straight away. Whether prices show on the site is a switch on the website's Services and prices card, and so, for a business registered for GST, is whether they include it.
What our team does
- Builds the site, and puts it live with you the first time.
- Sets up your own domain name, like yourbusiness.com.au.
- Changes a site built by hand, and questions written for your site rather than taken from Settings.
